Happy February everyone! February ends what I think of as the Holiday season: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and now … Valentine’s Day!!! If you’re not a fan of the roses, red and pink everywhere, chocolates, and mushy gushy love crap … too bad, because this Romance writer LOVES the day. What did you expect?
Maybe that’s why, for the second year in a row, I will be releasing a Valentine’s Day themed short just in time for the most romantic day of the year. Leading up to the release and countdown to the 14th, I will be sharing some of my top romantic movie moments, as well as offering you several chances to win a little gift basket I put together just for you, as well as some ebooks and sweet treats! For the giveaway, we will also be following along with the blog tour for the “Love Sucks…Until It Doesn’t” Valentine’s Day Collection, of which my book “The Gift” is a part.
Each day of my Valentine’s Day Countdown/Bash will offer a new chance to win. Prizes will be given away throughout the duration of the countdown to Valentine’s Day, as well as the blog tour. Also up for grabs are 1 dozen Valentine’s Day cake pops courtesy of Austin Avenue Cakes. Those pictured below are an example of Tiffany, owner of AAC’s work, but are not the actual arrangement, which will come in Valentine’s colors and in a variety of flavors (white, chocolate, red velvet, strawberry).
On certain days I will also be giving away ebooks and other prizes, so be sure to stay tuned to all of the happenings leading up to Valentine’s Day and beyond!
Now, let’s kick off the countdown with the first on my list of favorite romantic movie moments with moment #1 A Kiss On A Boat.
We all know the movie. We all love it. We all watch Jack and Rose fall in love on a ship fated to sink to the depths of the ocean and, at least I, hope a bit each time that things might turn out differently. Even knowing the end, this remains one of my favorite romantic movies of all time and includes what I think is one of Hollywood’s most swoon worthy scenes! Yup, I’m talking about the scene that always seems to queue up the Celine Dione hit ‘My Heart Will Go On’ in our heads. Not to mention it is, in my opinion, one of the most beautifully set up movie kisses of all time. I mean, the ship, the sky, the wind, and of course DiCaprio! All of that is great, but none of it gets to me like DiCaprio singing in his off-key voice “Come Josephine in my flying machine, going up she goes, up she goes”. For some reason, I find it the cutest things a guy’s ever done in a movie … ever. If I’d been Rose, I’d have kissed him too, fiance be damned!

I would have to say I loved P.S. I love you. Great movie. There are so many others.;)
That’s a great one, Natalie! I LOVE that movie! Another tear jerker for sure!
In Pretty Woman at the end when Richard Gere pulls up in the limo!
Another classic! I adore that movie and even though movies with similar themes have popped up over the years, nothing is as good as the original!
Pride & Prejudice Keira Knightly one
Jill, I’ve never seen that one. I don’t know why either, Kiera Knightly is one of my favorite acrtresses. Hmmm, I think I found my next DVD purchase.
Romantic? Well- hot and sexy for sure. Mask of Zorro with Banderas and Zeta Jones – he ducks into the stable to hide – she is there – they start fencing – he essentially removes all of her clothes with close contact giving him many times to lean in and kiss..
the dialog in that movie is just so perfect – campy but sweetly romantic nonetheless
Good one, Gaele! Those two definitely sizzle together! Banderas sizzles on his own but Catherine Zeta Jones is pretty hot too. I love that scene as well … very sexy!
My favorite Romantic Movie Kiss has to be the kiss on the plane between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in “Wedding Singer” … I’m a TOTAL 80′s kid and I LOVE LOVE LOVE that movie!!! <3 Thanks so much for this giveaway. I'm totally excited to find someone who loves Valentine's Day too!!!!
I love that movie! Adam Sandler has a nice voice, too. His little song would have earned him a kiss from me for sure!
Princess bride. When she the farm boy get the pitcher and says ” as you wish”. Gets me every time.
Another classic! You guys are really making me want to have a movie marathon!
An Affair to Remember when Nickie finally realizes Terry is the woman the shop owner gave the painting to, the woman in a wheelchair. When he realizes why she never kept their appointment, cue in tears.
That is such a good movie!!! Gets me every time, Jessica!!!
I’d have to say one of my favorite movie moments is at the end of Sleepless in Seattle, when she shows up at the Empire State Building and they see each other ♥
